About me
Hi, I’m Garen, and I’m a French to English translator with a passion for the environment, nine years’ professional experience and more than four million words under my belt. But I’m not just a translator – I’m also a father and a husband, a birdwatcher, a somewhat lapsed gardener and a very amateur woodturner.

I manage to find a new interest almost every time I work on an environmental translation. Soil? Food and sustainable farming? Waste? They’re all fascinating topics that I love really digging into (and all three have rekindled my interest in gardening too).

I love translation because I’m always learning something new, and nothing suits me better than getting stuck into a good white paper translation with plenty of detail. Natural curiosity and a hint of obsessiveness have served me well over the years!
So that's who I am.
